Refers to effective working control by one company over another. This acquisition may be through either a friendly takeover or through forced or unwilling takeover. Generally, the acquisition is done through mutual argument. In the Company define an Acquisition is a situation where a company buys shares of most or any other company to take control. An acquisition occurs when a purchasing company receives more than fifty percent ownership in the target company. As part of the exchange, the acquiring company often buys the target company’s stock and other assets, which allows the acquiring company to make decisions about new acquisitions without the approval of the shareholder of the targeted company. A merger is similar to an acquisition but refers more strictly to combining all of the interests of both companies into a stronger single company.
